1. PURPOSE, SCOPE & INTENDED USE
Professional Clinical Support
MedLlama is an artificial intelligence-assisted clinical information and reasoning platform designed to support qualified healthcare professionals in reviewing, organizing, and interpreting medical information. Depending on the feature used, MedLlama may assist with clinical questions, symptom and history review, laboratory information, medical documents, medication information, drug interaction considerations, clinical images, radiology-related information, ECG-related information, dermatological findings, wound information, pathology-related information, genetic information, and other clinical materials submitted by the user. MedLlama is intended to provide supplementary analytical, informational, and organizational support. It is not intended to replace the knowledge, training, judgment, physical examination, professional responsibility, or independent clinical decision-making of a qualified healthcare professional.
Professional Use Only
Clinical features within MedLlama are intended for use by appropriately qualified healthcare professionals acting within the limits of their education, professional qualifications, licensure or authorization, institutional privileges, and applicable scope-of-practice requirements. Users are responsible for determining whether they are legally and professionally authorized to use a specific MedLlama feature for a particular patient, clinical task, specialty, or jurisdiction.
No Autonomous Clinical Authority
MedLlama does not independently assume responsibility for patient care and must not be treated as an autonomous physician, pharmacist, radiologist, pathologist, diagnostician, prescriber, emergency service, or other healthcare professional. AI-generated information is intended to support, not replace, professional clinical judgment.
2. AI-GENERATED CONTENT & FUNDAMENTAL LIMITATIONS
Probabilistic Artificial Intelligence
MedLlama uses artificial intelligence systems that generate outputs probabilistically. AI-generated content may appear detailed, confident, fluent, professional, or clinically plausible even when it is incomplete, outdated, inconsistent, unsupported, or incorrect. The apparent confidence, detail, structure, specificity, or professional tone of an AI-generated response must never be interpreted as proof that the response is clinically correct.
Hallucinations
Artificial intelligence systems may generate hallucinations, including fabricated facts, incorrect explanations, inaccurate medical information, nonexistent references, incorrect medication information, incomplete contraindications, inappropriate differential considerations, or misleading clinical conclusions. Users must independently verify clinically relevant information before relying on it.
Errors and Omissions
MedLlama may misunderstand user input, omit relevant clinical information, fail to identify important abnormalities, overemphasize insignificant findings, misinterpret abbreviations, confuse units, incorrectly process documents, or fail to recognize contradictory information. MedLlama may also fail to identify an emergency condition, medication interaction, contraindication, abnormal laboratory result, imaging abnormality, infection, malignancy, fracture, vascular compromise, ischemic process, or other clinically important condition.
No Guarantee of Completeness
MedLlama does not guarantee that any response includes every clinically relevant diagnosis, differential consideration, interaction, contraindication, risk factor, guideline, test, treatment consideration, or follow-up requirement. The absence of a finding or warning in an AI-generated response must not be interpreted as proof that the finding or risk is absent.
3. INDEPENDENT PROFESSIONAL JUDGMENT
Independent Verification Required
Every clinically relevant MedLlama output must be independently reviewed and interpreted by an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before it is used to support patient care. MedLlama should be treated as an additional source of structured information and analytical assistance, not as the final clinical decision-maker.
Professional Responsibility
The healthcare professional using MedLlama remains responsible for determining whether an AI-generated output is accurate, relevant, complete, clinically appropriate, and consistent with the patient's actual presentation, history, examination, diagnostic data, current medical knowledge, applicable guidelines, and local standard of care.
Conflicting Information
If MedLlama conflicts with professional judgment, an official medical record, an authoritative medical source, an institutional policy, a laboratory result, a radiology report, a pathology report, a specialist opinion, or the patient's actual clinical presentation, the AI-generated output must not be treated as controlling. The discrepancy should be resolved through appropriate clinical evaluation, additional information, testing, consultation, or specialist review.
4. MEDICAL INFORMATION MAY CHANGE
Medical Knowledge Evolves
Medical knowledge, clinical guidelines, drug labeling, safety communications, diagnostic criteria, disease classifications, therapeutic recommendations, reference ranges, and standards of care may change over time. Information may also vary between countries, institutions, specialties, laboratories, patient populations, and clinical settings.
Current Sources Required
MedLlama does not guarantee that every generated response reflects the most recent guideline, regulatory update, medication label, safety communication, institutional protocol, or specialty-specific recommendation. Users must consult current authoritative medical sources whenever a clinical decision depends on up-to-date information.
5. PATIENT-SPECIFIC CONTEXT & INPUT QUALITY
Input-Dependent Analysis
MedLlama can analyze only the information that is made available to it. The quality of an AI-generated result may be materially affected by missing, inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, mistranslated, poorly described, incorrectly entered, or clinically irrelevant information.
Important Clinical Context
Relevant information may include age, sex, pregnancy or lactation status, allergies, current medications, medication dose and timing, renal function, hepatic function, medical history, family history, vital signs, physical examination findings, laboratory results, imaging context, recent procedures, comorbidities, social history, substance use, and other patient-specific factors.
Unknown Information Remains Unknown
Users must not assume that MedLlama knows information that was not explicitly provided or reliably contained in submitted materials. If a clinically important fact is unknown, it should be treated as unknown rather than inferred from the AI-generated response.
6. HISTORY & PHYSICAL EXAMINATION LIMITATIONS
No Substitute for Physical Examination
AI-generated content cannot reproduce the complete information obtained through direct history-taking, physical examination, bedside observation, clinician-patient interaction, review of original records, or longitudinal clinical follow-up. Clinical findings requiring palpation, auscultation, neurological examination, mental status assessment, gait assessment, direct wound examination, hemodynamic evaluation, or other in-person methods may be unavailable or inadequately represented.
Direct Evaluation May Be Required
When direct examination, measurement, repeat assessment, bedside evaluation, or in-person medical care is clinically indicated, MedLlama must not be used as a substitute for that evaluation.
7. DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS & CLINICAL REASONING
Differential Diagnosis Support
MedLlama may organize clinical information, identify possible causes, generate differential considerations, summarize supporting evidence, identify contradicting evidence, and suggest areas requiring further evaluation. These outputs are analytical aids and do not independently establish a final diagnosis.
Differentials May Be Incomplete
An AI-generated differential may omit important conditions, include unlikely conditions, incorrectly prioritize diagnoses, or fail to account for disease prevalence, pre-test probability, atypical presentation, medication effects, comorbidities, or incomplete clinical data.
No Final Diagnostic Determination
A diagnosis should not be confirmed or excluded solely because MedLlama includes or omits a condition from an AI-generated differential.
8. RISK, PROBABILITY, CONFIDENCE & SEVERITY
AI Scores Are Not Automatically Validated
Terms such as low, moderate, high, severe, critical, likely, possible, probability, confidence, relevance, risk, urgency, or similar indicators may be generated as part of an AI-assisted analysis. Unless MedLlama explicitly identifies a specific validated clinical instrument and its methodology, these indicators must not be interpreted as validated clinical scores, diagnostic probabilities, prognostic models, or evidence-based risk calculators.
Do Not Rely on Numerical Confidence Alone
A numerical or qualitative confidence value generated by artificial intelligence does not establish diagnostic accuracy and must not be used as the sole basis for clinical decision-making.
9. TRIAGE, URGENCY & RED FLAGS
Triage Support
MedLlama may identify red flags, concerning findings, or situations that appear to warrant prompt evaluation. However, AI may fail to recognize a time-sensitive or life-threatening condition, and clinical urgency must always be determined using the complete clinical context.
No Assurance of Safety
The absence of an urgent warning must never be interpreted as confirmation that a patient is safe, clinically stable, or suitable for delayed medical care.
Professional Escalation
If clinical findings suggest that urgent, emergency, specialist, or inpatient assessment may be necessary, appropriate medical escalation should occur without waiting for additional AI analysis.
10. MEDICAL IMAGING & RADIOLOGY
AI-Assisted Imaging Review
Where supported, MedLlama may process or review uploaded medical imaging materials including X-rays, CT images, MRI images, ultrasound-related materials, mammography-related materials, or other supported medical images. AI-generated observations are supplemental and must not be treated as a substitute for an official interpretation by an appropriately qualified radiologist or other specialist when formal interpretation is required.
Imaging Limitations
AI analysis may be affected by image resolution, compression, cropping, orientation, missing views, incomplete series, missing sequences, poor contrast, image artifacts, screenshots, incorrect file conversion, missing acquisition information, or incomplete metadata.
Incomplete Imaging Studies
A single image, screenshot, selected frame, or incomplete series may not represent the complete diagnostic examination. Important abnormalities may be visible only on additional views, slices, sequences, phases, or original diagnostic-quality data that were not submitted to MedLlama.
False Positive and False Negative Findings
MedLlama may fail to identify an abnormality, identify an abnormality that is not present, or assign inappropriate significance to an incidental finding. A normal or reassuring AI-generated imaging response does not exclude disease, fracture, malignancy, infection, ischemia, vascular abnormality, or other clinically important pathology.
11. ECG & CARDIOVASCULAR INFORMATION
ECG Analysis Limitations
Where supported, MedLlama may assist with review of ECG-related information including rate, rhythm, intervals, waveform characteristics, and potentially relevant abnormalities. AI-generated ECG observations must be independently verified and must not replace formal interpretation where clinical circumstances require evaluation by a qualified clinician or cardiology professional.
Incomplete ECG Data
Analysis may be limited by missing leads, poor signal quality, artifact, incorrect lead placement, image quality, incomplete recordings, screenshots, or missing clinical context. A reassuring AI response must not be used to exclude clinically important arrhythmia, ischemia, conduction abnormality, or other cardiovascular pathology.
12. DERMATOLOGY, WOUNDS & VISUAL CLINICAL MATERIAL
Visual Clinical Review
MedLlama may assist in reviewing visible clinical findings such as skin changes, lesions, redness, bruising, swelling, wounds, discoloration, or other supported visual findings. AI-generated visual observations are not a substitute for direct clinical examination, dermatological assessment, wound evaluation, biopsy, microbiological testing, or other professional evaluation when clinically indicated.
Image Quality Limitations
Lighting, camera angle, skin tone, image compression, focus, shadows, scale, distance, image editing, and device characteristics may substantially affect AI-generated visual findings.
Malignancy and Serious Disease
AI-generated information concerning malignancy risk, melanoma-related findings, infection, cellulitis, vascular compromise, necrosis, or other serious pathology must not be used as the sole basis for confirming or excluding disease.
13. ORTHOPEDIC & FRACTURE-RELATED INFORMATION
Fracture and Injury Review
MedLlama may identify findings that appear relevant to fracture, swelling, joint effusion, soft tissue injury, range-of-motion limitation, or other musculoskeletal concerns. These observations are supplemental and do not replace appropriate physical examination, formal imaging interpretation, orthopedic assessment, or emergency evaluation when clinically indicated.
Do Not Exclude Fracture Solely Through AI
A lack of fracture-related findings in an AI-generated response does not establish that a fracture, dislocation, ligament injury, tendon injury, vascular injury, neurological injury, or other clinically significant condition is absent.
14. LABORATORY INFORMATION
Laboratory Interpretation
MedLlama may assist in organizing and reviewing laboratory values, reference ranges, trends, and potentially relevant abnormalities. Laboratory interpretation depends on the correct analyte, units, specimen type, laboratory method, reference interval, collection timing, pre-analytical conditions, patient characteristics, medication exposure, and clinical context.
Reference Ranges Vary
Reference intervals may vary between laboratories, instruments, methods, age groups, populations, and clinical settings. Users must verify results against the original laboratory report and applicable laboratory-specific reference ranges.
Critical Values
MedLlama must not be relied upon as the sole mechanism for identifying or communicating critical laboratory results. Applicable laboratory critical-value policies and clinical escalation procedures remain controlling.
15. PATHOLOGY INFORMATION
Pathology Review
MedLlama may assist in organizing or summarizing pathology-related information. AI-generated pathology information does not replace formal evaluation by an appropriately qualified pathologist when pathology interpretation is clinically required.
Complex Pathology Findings
Histologic classification, tumor grading, margins, immunohistochemistry, molecular findings, staging implications, and other pathology conclusions may depend on information that is unavailable to MedLlama. Users must verify clinically significant pathology findings against the official pathology report.
16. GENETIC & GENOMIC INFORMATION
Genetic Findings
Genetic and genomic information may depend on variant classification, penetrance, ancestry, laboratory methodology, phenotype, family history, current databases, and specialist interpretation. AI-generated genetic information must not be treated as definitive evidence of disease, hereditary risk, carrier status, or prognosis without appropriate professional confirmation.
Genetic Counseling
Where genetic counseling or specialist interpretation is clinically appropriate, MedLlama must not be used as a substitute for those services.
17. MEDICATION INFORMATION
Medication Review
MedLlama may provide or organize information regarding medication names, active ingredients, indications, contraindications, warnings, precautions, adverse effects, pharmacology, administration, and clinical considerations. This information is intended to support professional review and does not constitute an autonomous prescription, medication order, or dispensing instruction.
Medication Information May Be Incomplete
Medication information may be incomplete, outdated, jurisdiction-specific, formulation-specific, or inappropriate for an individual patient. Professionals must verify clinically important medication information using current authoritative sources.
18. DRUG INTERACTION ANALYSIS
Interaction Review
MedLlama may assist in reviewing drug-drug, drug-food, drug-alcohol, drug-disease, and other clinically relevant interactions. AI-generated interaction analysis may be incomplete or inaccurate.
Absence of Interaction Does Not Establish Safety
The absence of a displayed interaction must not be interpreted as proof that a medication combination is safe. Interaction severity may depend on dose, route, duration, timing, patient characteristics, renal function, hepatic function, genetics, laboratory values, and other medications.
Professional Verification
Clinically significant interaction information should be independently verified using current pharmacy, regulatory, institutional, or other authoritative professional resources.
19. DOSING INFORMATION
Dosing Is Not Autonomous Prescribing
MedLlama may display general or contextual information concerning medication dose ranges, maximum doses, pediatric considerations, renal adjustments, hepatic adjustments, geriatric considerations, administration, pregnancy, lactation, or other dosing-related information. Such information must not be interpreted as an autonomous prescription or individualized medication order.
Independent Verification Required
Any dose, dose range, maximum dose, pediatric dose, renal adjustment, hepatic adjustment, geriatric adjustment, or administration instruction must be independently verified before clinical use.
Patient-Specific Factors
Appropriate dosing may depend on diagnosis, indication, age, weight, body surface area, renal function, hepatic function, pregnancy, lactation, pharmacogenomics, therapeutic drug monitoring, route, formulation, concurrent medications, institutional protocols, and current product labeling.
Do Not Use as Sole Basis
MedLlama must not be used as the sole basis for prescribing, changing, initiating, stopping, withholding, dispensing, or administering a medication.
20. PREGNANCY, LACTATION, PEDIATRIC & GERIATRIC USE
Special Populations
Clinical and medication-related information for pregnant patients, breastfeeding patients, children, older adults, and other special populations may require additional professional review. Risks, contraindications, dosing, pharmacokinetics, and clinical recommendations may differ substantially from general adult populations.
Additional Verification
Information concerning pregnancy, lactation, pediatric use, geriatric use, developmental risk, or age-specific dosing must be independently verified using authoritative and current professional sources.
21. EMERGENCY & TIME-CRITICAL CONDITIONS
Not an Emergency Service
MedLlama is not an emergency medical service, emergency dispatch system, poison control center, crisis response service, or continuous patient-monitoring system. MedLlama cannot guarantee detection of patient deterioration or a time-critical emergency.
Do Not Delay Emergency Care
Do not wait for additional MedLlama analysis when emergency assessment or intervention may be required. If a patient may be experiencing a medical emergency or rapidly worsening condition, contact the appropriate local emergency service or obtain immediate emergency medical care.
Examples of Potential Emergencies
Potential emergencies may include severe or worsening chest pain, major breathing difficulty, suspected stroke, loss of consciousness, severe bleeding, anaphylaxis, severe trauma, poisoning, overdose, seizures, rapidly worsening infection, suicidal crisis, homicidal crisis, or any other condition considered time-critical by the treating professional. This list is not exhaustive.
Reassuring AI Output Does Not Exclude Emergency
A reassuring, normal, low-risk, or non-urgent AI-generated response must never be used to delay emergency evaluation when the real-world clinical situation suggests urgent medical care may be required.
22. PROFESSIONAL STANDARD OF CARE
Professional Duties Remain Unchanged
Use of MedLlama does not reduce, replace, transfer, or modify the professional duties of the healthcare professional responsible for patient care. Healthcare professionals remain responsible for assessment, diagnosis, testing, referral, treatment, prescribing, monitoring, documentation, communication, follow-up, escalation, and patient safety.
Applicable Standards
Users remain responsible for complying with applicable laws, regulations, licensing rules, professional codes, standards of care, institutional policies, credentialing requirements, documentation standards, informed-consent obligations, and specialty-specific requirements.
Specialist Consultation
MedLlama does not eliminate the need for specialist consultation, multidisciplinary review, pharmacy verification, radiology review, pathology review, genetic counseling, second opinions, or escalation of care when those steps are professionally appropriate.
23. PATIENT DATA & CONFIDENTIALITY
Authorization to Submit Information
Users are responsible for ensuring that they are permitted to enter, upload, photograph, transmit, or otherwise process patient-related information through MedLlama. This includes obtaining any authorization, patient consent, institutional approval, or other lawful basis required by applicable privacy, confidentiality, employment, healthcare, or professional rules.
Data Minimization
Users should avoid submitting unnecessary personally identifiable patient information. Where appropriate or required, patient data should be minimized or de-identified before submission.

25. SOURCES & REFERENCES
Reference Verification
MedLlama may display, summarize, cite, link to, or refer to external guidelines, publications, medication information, databases, organizations, or other sources. AI-generated references may be incomplete, outdated, incorrectly formatted, mismatched to the associated statement, or nonexistent.
Verify Original Sources
Clinically significant information should be verified directly against the original authoritative source rather than relying solely on an AI-generated citation or summary.
No Third-Party Endorsement
Reference to a third-party publication, database, organization, guideline, product, or service does not imply that the third party endorses MedLlama, has reviewed MedLlama's output, or guarantees its accuracy.
26. REGULATORY STATUS & JURISDICTION
